What to do when an ECT is moving schools

If your ECT is leaving or moving schools, there are two places you need to update.

What to do when you have a Mentor change.

We know that schools are ever changing and there may be circumstances which means you need to allocate a new Mentor to your ECT. There are three places you need to update.

• Notify the ECF Teach First Programme with the Teaching School Hub (that's us).
  Please complete this change of mentor form. We will withdraw the current Mentor and register the new Mentor and assign them to the same cohort as the previous Mentor.
• Register on the DfE Manage Training Portal.
  Please register the New Mentor on the DfE Manage Training Portal. Please ensure that ECT, Mentor and Induction Tutor are all 'linked' together to enable the Mentor and Induction Tutor the 'audit' functionality on the online platform Brightspace.

• Notify your Appropriate Body

Please notify your Appropriate Body of the change in Mentor. If NTSH is your Appropriate Body, please log in to your ECT Manager account and update the Mentor’s name here.  

What to do when you have a change of ECF Lead/Induction Tutor

We know that schools are ever changing and there may be circumstances which means you need to allocate a new Induction Tutor There are three places you need to update.

• Notify the ECF Teach First Programme with the Teaching School Hub (that's us).
  Please complete this change of lead form. We will withdraw the current lead and assign the new lead to all future comms.
• Register on the DfE Manage Training Portal.
  Please register the New Induction Tutor on the DfE Manage Training Portal. Please ensure that ECTs, Mentors and Induction Tutors are all 'linked' together to enable the Induction Tutor the 'audit' functionality on the online platform Brightspace.

• Notify your Appropriate Body

Please notify your Appropriate Body of the change in Induction Tutor. If NTSH is your Appropriate Body, please log in to the school’s ECT Manager account and update the Induction Tutors details here.
