ECT Expertise in Teaching Maths (EiTM) modules

East Midlands South Maths Hub has created a short video to introduce the NCETM’s Expertise in Teaching Mathematics (EiTM) modules.  These are short subject-specific professional development units designed to support Early Career Teachers in developing secure, connected mathematical understanding for teaching.  The modules complement the Early Career Framework, sitting alongside your existing provision, and participation is optional and designed to be flexible.  The video, which can be found on their website, explains a little more about them and how you can gain access.

ECT Testimonials

  • Testimonial from an ECT who was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and how they have managed this new diagnosis throughout their ECT years.

Kaylea's Testimonial

  • ECT, Joshua Bell, reflects on the impact of the ECTP on his teaching practice in the first year of his induction.

"Completing my ECT 1 with the Teach First ECTP has been a rewarding and impactful experience. The in-person seminars were particular highlights, it always pays off to have dedicated time to working on your practice. The smaller foci allow for you to feel something has been achieved in those sessions, that you can then implement in your classroom. The session leaders – Hannah and Katie – are engaging, knowledgeable and provide fantastic specific feedback. The sessions are delivered in sections and nothing new is taught without giving you time to pause and reflect on your own practice. All the staff behind the scenes are friendly and helpful making sure the programme runs smoothly."
