Initial Registration Open for Autumn 2026 NPQs
We are pleased to announce that expressions of interest for Autumn 2026 National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) are now open. Updated 18th May 2026.
This early expression of interest enables schools and colleagues to plan ahead in readiness for formal applications later in the summer term.
We will once again be working in partnership with the Ambition Institute as our lead provider, delivering the full suite of specialist and leadership NPQs. These programmes are designed to support professional development at every stage, strengthening leadership, teaching practice, and whole-school improvement.
Registering an expression of interest ensures you:
- Receive timely updates on application windows and eligibility
- Are prepared to apply in advance of the June 23rd DfE portal opening
- Can plan professional development strategically for the 2026–27 academic year
Updates from 18th May 2026
The Department for Education has released the eligibility criteria for the Autumn 2026 National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) cohort. Here’s what you need to know:
Fully funded NPQs (no disadvantage criteria required):
- NPQ for Headship
- NPQ for SENCOs
- NPQ for Senior Leadership (new)
- NPQ for Early Years Leadership (for those in Early Years settings)
These apply to participants in eligible educational settings.
🎯 Early Headship Coaching Offer remains available directly via Ambition Institute.
💡 All other NPQs: Scholarships will continue to be based on disadvantage criteria.
