The Northamtonshire Schools' Mental Health & Wellbeing Conference 2024 is being offered free of charge to Northamptonshire Schools through the generous donations of our event sponsors.

Main event sponsor: The Great Oakley Estate

In the mid 1980’s my late father, Hugh de Capell Brooke, was the driving force to bring a new and innovative school to Corby, built on the farm at Great Oakley. The Brooke City Technology College, now known as The Brooke Weston Academy, opened its doors in 1991 to 1300 students and the school has gone on to become one of the leading state funded schools in the United Kingdom. The Brooke Weston Trust was set up and created by the de Capell Brooke and Weston families in 2008 and I am extremely proud that my father’s legacy lives on in this way, and that the Trust now operates 11 schools, educating over 10,000 young children and employing over 1000 members of staff.

Office for Police & Crime Commissioner

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is responsible for the setting of the startegic direction of policing and fire and rescue services in the County, as well as setting precept levels for council tax, setting budgets, strategic priorities and holding the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer to account for the services that they deliver.

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is committed to ensuring young people are safeguarded and can flourish, reducing levels of exploitation, diverting them from criminality and reducing victimisation through a programme of prevention and early intervention.

This event provides an opportunity to present and consider the finding of a strategic needs assessment undertaken by a range of partners for serious violence in the County, and how the findings of this relate to young people and mental health.

Northants Virtual School

The Virtual School is a team of experienced teachers and dedicated educational professionals. We promote, and support the educational attainment and progress of Northamptonshire's children in care and children previously in care.

Children in care and children with a social worker have often experienced a number of, or chronic and persistent adverse childhood experiences. These experiences and their lasting impact, often make these children particularly vulnerable and more likely to need support with their mental health and wellbeing. It is therefore vital that the schools they attend are in turn supported and equipped to deliver this support.
